| Description: | BATFEST: Night of the Bat is sponsored by the City of Austin Sat, August 25th, 2012 on the Ann Richards Congress Ave Bridge 5 PM until Midnight FREE Admission! All ages welcome! Bring the family! 8 Bands on 2 Stages! 2 million Mexican Free Tail Bats emerging from under the bridge at dusk, 2 stages of live music, over 75 arts & Crafts Vendors, Food, Drinks, Children's Activities, costume contest, and Bat activities. Bats are unpredictable creatures but usually start flying between 7:00 - 8:30. Flight can last about 1/2 hour as as up to 2 million Mexican Free Tail Bats emerge for their nightly flight. Bat Conservation International will have live bats and an education (coloring and videos) room in the Hyatt! YES you can bring: Small umbrellas Folding chairs Cameras Strollers Food/Drink for Baby (with baby in attendance) Bicycles (OK to chain outside gate at your own risk) NO you can't bring: Food or Drink (each person can bring 2 sealed bottles of water) Weapons | ||
