Description: | From De Leon Peach and Melon Festival And Tractor Pull Website: The De Leon Peach and Melon Festival is a yearly event started in 1914, held the first full week of August. Activities include Crowning of a Queen and her court, Parade, Melon, Fruit and Cake auction, Live bands, 5k/10k run, Carnival Rides, Food and Merchandise Vendors, Nationally Sanctioned 42 tournament, Watermelon Seed spitting contest, a Free Watermelon slicing, Kids Tractor Pull and the ever so popular Truck and Tractor Pulls---one of the oldest and longest running Pulls in Texas. Each year the small town of De Leon welcomes around 40,000 visitors for a fun filled week of activities for all ages.
