Lubbock |
Dates |
September 19, 2014 - September 27, 2014 |
Description: | From Panhandle South Plains Fair Website: The first annual South Plains Fair was held in the fall of 1914, and has continued every year since, aside from the World War II years of 1942-1945. The modern day extravaganza bears little resemblance to the first Fair, but the goal of the Fair remains firmly intact: to strengthen community ties within our region and promote growth and prosperity throughout Lubbock and its surrounding communities.
New events and attractions continue to be added to the Fair each year. But for all the changes and growth, the South Plains Fair remains a place for people of all ages to enjoy. From the midway rides - bigger and faster each year - to the agricultural exhibits, the corn dogs to the superstars, there is literally something for everyone! Throughout the Fair's past and present, there exists an air of fun and nostalgia that can be equaled in few other places. Generations of people have grown up with the South Plains Fair!
