| From Galveston take the Bolivar Ferry across to Bolivar Peninsula. History Fort Travis is well marked on the right about a mile from the Ferry Landing. From Beaumont, take I-10 West to Winnie. Take Hwy 24 to the Gulf. Turn right (only way!) on Hwy 87. Come all the way down to the end of the peninsula. Historic Fort Travis will be on your left before you get to the Bolivar Ferry Landing. | |||
