Description: The Granbury Chamber of Commerce announced today the theme for the 2016 Old Fashioned 4th of July will be "Proud to Be an American." The Grand Marshal for this year's parade will be the First Responders of Hood County, with the Honorary Grand Marshal being Doofus, the mascot of Second Chance Farm of Granbury.

This year's three day celebration begins Saturday, July 2nd and goes through Monday, July 4th. The annual event brings throngs of visitors to town for the three-day event that features more than 100 arts & crafts and food vendors lining the courthouse square showcasing their wares, a classic car show, a rodeo, live music, an Independence Day parade, and a top-ranked fireworks show.

EntertainmentOn Sunday, July 3rd, BT Rhodes and the Open Rhodes Band will be providing a free concert at Hewlett Park. The concert starts at 7:30pm as Kelsey Lewis opens with her special brand of country and blues. The Open Rhodes Band will take the stage at approximately 8:30pm. Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, and the family for a fun night of music under the stars. The holiday weekend of July 2nd – 4th will also include live performances at Big City Music Revue and the Historic Granbury Opera House.
ActivitiesOn Saturday, July 2nd vendors on the historic square open for business at 10:00am, and the day continues into the evening with the D & D Rockin' Rods Classic Car Show at 4601 Highway 377 (across from Granbury InterBank) - 6:00pm – 10:00pm. Over 150 classic cars, hot rods, trucks, late models, imports and domestic customized vehicles will be on display. On Sunday, July 3rd, BT Rhodes and the Open Rhodes Band will be providing a free concert at Hewlett Park. The concert starts at 7:30pm as Kelsey Lewis opens with her special brand of country and blues. The Open Rhodes Band will take the stage at approximately 8:30pm. Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, and the family for a fun night of music under the stars. The Monday, July 4th schedule begins with the Kiwanis Firecracker 5K at 8:00am, the Independence Day parade stepping off at 10:00am, and the Ranch Rodeo at 6:00pm at the Reunion Grounds. The award-winning and top-ranked Extreme Pyrotechnics Fireworks Show will light up the night at dusk (approximately 9:45pm).
