September 22, 2017 - September 24, 2017 |
Description: | From 61st Annual Greek Food Festival of Dallas Website: This year the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church community is celebrating the 60th year of sharing heartfelt hospitality and culture with thousands of eager visitors. Delicious cuisine and pastries authentically made in the festival kitchen, spirited live music and dance, fun kids attractions, and a marketplace brimming with imports and activity, transform the corner of Hillcrest & Alpha into Dallas own Greek island.
The wide-ranging marketplace or Agora features imported goods as well as the creations of Greek-American artists and artisans. The Agora also has a Pantopolion or grocery store; ongoing cooking demonstrations by real Greek foodies; and a pastry store, where honey-drenched baklava is just the beginning.
Tours of the church and its Byzantine iconography, and a visit to the Greek Cultural Center and church bookstore add an element of enrichment to the exhilarating, three-day celebration.
This years festival will have a Taverna (beverage bar), a Kafenio (coffee house), and a Kouzina (food service area), all designed to enhance accessibility and service.
