| Description: | From 17th annual Texas Steak Cookoff Website: NEW!! The 17th Annual Texas Steak Cookoff kicks off Saturday, May 16, 2020, with an exclusive COOKOFF KICKOFF & Taste of Hico party featuring The Tejas Brothers with the Push N Luck Band at 7:00 pm at 101 Elm. Simultaneously, a FREE TO THE PUBLIC street dance will be held in front of the Post Office on First Street, featuring the music of Gary Anderson & The Moonlighters.
The Steak Cookoff proper begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 16, 2020, in the Historic Downtown Business District of Hico, Texas. This family-friendly event offers a chance to look on as backyard chefs from all over the Southwest compete to see who cooks the best steak in Texas. Eat a steak and enjoy artisan vendors, local shopping, a magician & face painter for the kids, live music on the main stage, polka music at the Craft Beer tent (NEW!!) and a wandering mariachi band. There will also be a wine tasting featuring local Texas wineries.
